The O’Reilly Factor
On September 4th 2013 Bill O’Reilly read my letter out on Fox News’ The O’Reilly Factor (the highest rated cable news show in America). They spelled my name wrong (even though it’s the same as Bill’s) & cut off a large chunk of my letter but it’s my debut on international TV so I’m not complaining!
My original email in it’s entirety (I’m referencing how the UK parliament in August voted against doing anything regarding Syria. Interestingly, had we stood up to Al-Assad and put moderates in place, then perhaps the rebels wouldn’t have gained the notoriety they have under the ‘ISIS’ brand):
O’Reilly, Your Talking Points regarding Syria are right on. As a Brit I am ashamed of my country for not standing up to Bashar Al-Assad. What precedent (do we, as the world) set if we look the other way & display a united act of insouciance when a regime are using chemical weapons on their own innocent civilians, will it be biological threat agents they use next followed by nuclear missiles if we look the other way to what happened in Ghouta?
While it’s true that the rebels are not our allies, we must send a message to other regimes & terrorist organisations by punishing al-Assad for his actions to make it clear to the world that we will not tolerate such deplorable behaviour.
Even at inopportune times the world has had to stand up to evil, as there will always be consequences if we ignore it. An example of this lay in the ruins of World War II. The West ignoring violent oppression in Eastern Europe left them under the brutal control of ruthless communism for sixty years.
On July 7th/8th 2005 I appeared as a caller on KROQ-FM’s Loveline on to discuss the 7/7 London terror attacks & the G8 Summit in Gleneagles. Along with the hosts Adam Carolla (The Adam Carolla Show, The Man Show, Crank Yankers) & Dr. Drew Pinsky (Celebrity Rehab w/ Dr. Drew, Dr. Drew On Call), the guests were musician & film director Rob Zombie (White Zombie, The Devil’s Rejects) and fashion designer & actress Sheri Lyn Skurkis (CSI: Miami, Halloween).
